Please join us this coming Thursday evening to defend San Antonio's trees. We will be asking City Council to reject proposals to weaken the tree preservation ordinance and to support our goal of 35% tree canopy cover for San Antonio. Bring a small, leafy tree branch to show you are there for trees!

Tree Ordinance Under Attack

The development industry has given a radical list of amendments to City Council. One amendment would allow clear-cutting of development sites and another would eliminate 9 native tree species. Developers seem to have the sympathy of certain council members, who are looking to cut the ordinance to appease complaints

Council to vote soon

Council will vote on these amendments November 2nd, but it is important for you to speak out now before the die is cast. If you cannot come on Thursday, send a message to your City Councilmember.

About Citizens to be Heard

Citizens to be Heard is a period set aside during each City Council meeting for San Antonians to address the Council on any topic.

• Each person is given 3 minutes to speak
• Groups with 3 or more members present are allowed 9 minutes
• You do not have to speak. You can simply stand silently with your group as its representative speaks.
• You can give up your time to another person
• If you cannot attend, please send written testimony to be read into the record. See Sending Written Testimony to City Council
