Ask Council to vote for a stronger tree ordinance
1-27-10

City Council will vote in late-March on a major revision of our city's Tree Preservation Ordinance. Because the development industry opposes most of the revisions, it is crucial that you call and email City Council (contact info below). Let them know that you are for stronger preservation requirements, against "fees instead of trees", and for more tree canopy cover.

It is important to recognize that adoption of a stronger ordinance is far from certain. There is always the danger of last minutes changes, requested by developers, that will weaken the ordinance. Only a strong outpouring of citizen support will get a stronger ordinance on the books. For more information on this issue, click here.
